In the US Having a homebirth is a profound life choice to make. If we lived in Norway, the Netherlands, the UK, New Zealand, Canada, and many other countries that have successful childbearing statistics, homebirth would be a normal, healthy choice for low risk women. Unfortunately most people in the US considers homebirth a non mainstream choice. Fortunately the tide is turning and homebirth is becoming more mainstream thanks to some great publicity from documentaries and other media.
